Thomas Tuchel will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the current season and Dimitar Berbatov believes that the German manager should be on Liverpool’s radar.
Jurgen Klopp is leaving Anfield after this campaign is over and there’s plenty of speculation on who should replace him.
Xabi Alonso, the current Bayer Leverkusen manager, is the favourite, but his services are also being sought by Bayern according to some reports.
Tuchel certainly has the credentials that those at Liverpool are seeking and Berbatov believes the Champions League winner would be a decent fit for the Merseyside club.
“I think Liverpool should continue to chase Alonso. If they can't get him then there are other coaches on the market like Thomas Tuchel,” said Berbatov when speaking to Betfair.
“Tuchel would be the next contender for me to replace Klopp if they miss out on Alonso.
“Sometimes clubs will try to play it safe based on the manager's reputation or sometimes clubs take a chance and go for a not so big name, but at Liverpool, they have to go for success, and I think Tuchel or Alonso would be a good fit.”
