An undisputed heavyweight title clash featuring Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is still no closer to being arranged.
That’s the official line from Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter, who has been hoping to secure the epic event for a date in late April that would see the world’s leading heavyweights finally go at it in a gripping encounter.
The pair went face to face following Fury’s stoppage win over Derek Chisora last December and it appeared a showdown in 2023 looked a genuine possibility.
Appearing as a guest on talkSPORT, Warren, a Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, provided the latest update on the current situation between two of boxing’s biggest characters.
“We’re still none the wiser,” said Warren when speaking with talkSPORT.
“You need the agreement of both boxers to make it happen, and at the moment we haven’t got that.
“I have a pot and can only pay what’s in it. If it’s not enough money, then it won’t happen.”
