The road to the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup continues for 10 teams on this side of the Atlantic Ocean as the 2021 FIBA Women's AmeriCup kicks off in Puerto Rico.
All games will be held in the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, with the top four teams earning berths to qualifying tournaments for next year's World Cup.
Of course, regional bragging rights are also on the line, as the winner of the AmeriCup can rightly call itself the best team in the Americas. To that end, Canada enters the competition having won two of the last three AmeriCups and looking to add to that sparkling record.
The Canadians haven't finished lower than second place since 2011 (when they took home the bronze), and a strong result in this year's tourney would help build momentum ahead of next month's Tokyo Olympics.
