The Brazilian city of Recife plays host to the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup, which determines the champion of the Americas.
Once again, Canada will take part in the tournament. Along with Brazil, Argentina, and Puerto Rico, the Canadians are leaders in AmeriCup appearances with 19, meaning this year's edition will be the 20th for the aforementioned nations.
They'll headline a pool of 12 teams vying for regional supremacy, along with the United States, Uruguay, Colombia, U.S. Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Venezuela, and Panama. The action begins Sept. 2 with the preliminary round, with the knockouts beginning Sept. 8 for eight group-stage qualifiers.
