Canada looks for another victory.

After winning Tuesday's opener against Greece, Canada's back in action on Wednesday with a game against 29th-ranked China.

The Canadians shook off a slow start against the experienced Greeks, who looked polished under head coach Rick Pitino. The European side had the benefit of playing three exhibition games before arriving in Victoria, and it showed against the host Canucks.

Nick Nurse's Canadians are flush will talent, but they only had a short training camp with no exhibition games ahead of the tournament, so the disjointed first half could be forgiven.

Eventually, familiarity began to grow and Canada's athletic lineup took over the game, resulting in a 97-91 victory for the tournament hosts.

“We just had to keep playing,” Nurse said. “Hang in there, keep playing, learn. Play a little harder, play a little more together. It’s good. I’m glad of the way they bounced back through it. It should help us again as part of our learning experience.”

Next up for Canada is a match-up with China, which should be less of a test than the sixth-ranked Greeks. However, Nurse will be wise not to allow his team to show any complacency, as Wednesday's game represents another opportunity to build up the level of familiarity between his players — and a win would assure that the Canadians finish atop Group A.
