3 possible next opponents for Gervonta 'Tank' Davis

3 possible next opponents for Gervonta 'Tank' DavisDAZN

He wouldn't divulge any future plans immediately after his seventh-round KO of Ryan Garcia , but Gervonta 'Tank' Davis definitely has options.

Here are a couple of possibilities for the reigning WBA 'regular' lightweight world champion.

Clashing with the Devin Haney vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko winner

Both Haney and Lomachenko have talked about fighting 'Tank'. The undefeated Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) meeting the winner of the May 20 Haney-Loma tilt makes sense. If it's Haney who has his hand raised, a potential bout with 'Tank' would pit the two undefeated fighters in their prime up against each other in a mega bout for undisputed lightweight glory as Haney holds all four world titles at 135 pounds. Even if it's done at a catchweight and not for the titles, it'd be must-see material.

The same can be said if Lomachenko is victorious as the boxing world would get to see if his technical prowess can be an elixir to Davis' explosive power.

Shakur Stevenson

The supreme boxing skills, precision and growing power of Shakur Stevenson vs. the boxing skills and lights-out knockout punching prowess of 'Tank' would easily be one of the best bouts in boxing. That, and there has recently been an uptick in back-and-forth verbal exchanges between the two as if a culmination to their collision course is evident.

Like a Haney vs. Davis, 'Tank' vs. Stevenson would offer another super fight pitting two undefeated boxers in their prime up against each other.

Awaiting the winner of Josh Taylor-Teofimo Lopez Jr.

Taylor and Lopez fight June 10 with Taylor's WBO junior welterweight world title on the line. If 'Tank' decides to move up to 140 pounds once again, perhaps a clash with the Taylor-Lopez winner would be just the opponent needed to whet his appetite for destruction. Both offer action-packed styles that could produce absolute fireworks with Davis in yet another star-studded scrap.
