Adam Azim wants to defeat Enock Poulsen to go on to fight for a world title.
Azim became European champion at super-lightweight when he beat Frank Petitjean in November last year, and will now make his first defence against Poulsen, who previously held the belt.
The 21-year-old believes that he is certain to retain the strap when he fights on the Joshua Buatsi vs. Dan Azeez undercard (shown live in the US on Peacock).
“Winning a European title is massive thing for me, but for me I'm going to keep hold [of it], he isn't taking it home, I'm keeping it," he told Sky Sports.
"He can do whatever it takes, go to Cuba, go sparring, but when you face me, it's a different story.
"There's only one Adam Azim, I'm too fast for him, too powerful, I'm too skilful. He said he's going to box me - it's the worst thing because if you want to box me, I'm a dangerous boxer myself.
"Good luck to him, he has to be confident. Any fighter should be confident for beating each other, but the belt is staying home with me."
Azim added that he needs to beat Poulsen to then sketch out a plan to win a world title, adding: "The process is going really well. I've got a duty to do on Saturday night, and that duty is to beat him and then we'll look at my ambitions to become a world champion.
"Before going to that stage, I want to be ready. I'm not ready yet, but I will be soon."
