Adrien Broner has revealed that he is no longer fighting for anyone else as he prepares for another comeback.
The mult-weight champion, now 34, has had two bouts of inactivity in the last few years, both extending for two years.
However on Friday he is back in the ring once more, taking on another experienced fighter, Blair Cobbs.
Given his reputation, and his abilities when he is at his best, an impressive win for the American might even put him back in content for a title fight at welterweight, especially if Terence Crawford decides to move up and vacate more belts.
Despite his setbacks, Broner was confident when speaking to BoxingScene .
“I'm a special man,” he said. “There’s only one of me that come every 30 years in boxing.”
After some highs and lows, with bitter defeats and huge successes, he made it clear that the final chapter of his career is for him.
“My children motivate me, but this last run is for me,” Broner said. “I did everything for everybody else, so this last run is for me.”
