Alycia Baumgardner has a huge test on her hands this Saturday when she takes on Christina Linardatou, the only fighter to ever defeat her in the professional ranks.
The rematch will be the first time Baumgardner has fought in her home city and she said to DAZN: “I could’ve chosen anyone else for my homecoming fight, but I chose you, this is the right girl for the job.”
The 29-year-old made it no secret that she is looking past this weekend's fight at future opportunities, specifically naming three women’s boxing icons as possible opponents who just happen to be undisputed champions in various weight classes.
“I am part of history now and we are able to showcase to the world what a women athlete looks like,” Baumgardner continued.
“I will have a fight with Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano, and Chantelle Cameron, these fights are huge fights, we have undisputed champions in each weight class, and I think it builds for a great fight”.
