Amanda Serrano: Jake Paul ‘could last’ against Tyron WoodleyDAZN
The featherweight champion is impressed by the YouTuber's determination.

Featherweight champion Amanda Serrano believes that Jake Paul is in with a chance when he faces Tyron Woodley.

The pair will fight this August as the YouTube celebrity aims to win his fourth consecutive professional bout, with his last win coming against another UFC fighter, Ben Askren.

Serrano will fight on the undercard, against Yamileth Mercado, and has been training with Paul in the build-up. Watching Paul in action, she told the DAZN Boxing Show that he was a committed fighter.

“Well, I think it's a great step up for Jake, people want of course, let's see what a boxer is but then again, he is a great striker,” she said

“Jake is learning on the job. So I think this is a great step up for him. I will probably see him go at least a couple of rounds, two rounds, to three rounds. But I'm excited to see this fight because Woodley like you said, he has a fighter mindset and a champion mindset. He's been a champion and he's been an MMA, and MMA is definitely a different sport than boxing - it’s more brutal, but I'm excited to see how this fight comes along.”

She continued: “You know what Jake is - Jake is young. He's hungry. And I saw that when I was training with him, he doesn't need to box - he wants to fight and that's the good thing about any fighter.

“Like me, I love the sport of boxing. I want to fight.  I don't, I really don't need to. So that's why I continue to fight but you can just see him - he surrounded himself with positive people, with boxing people. He's fighting great sparring partners. And so you can tell that he really wants it. And you know, he has a lot.

“Weirdly, I don't know his mindset for this fight in particular, but you know, he is a fighter.”
