Amir Khan is doing all he can to help secure Tyson Fury his biggest fight against Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia.
The former 140lbs world champion was in Jeddah to see Usyk retain his world titles by defeating Anthony Joshua for a second time, and now the attention of the sporting world has switched to a potential showdown between Fury and Usyk.
If a bout between the world’s leading two heavyweights can be arranged, it would signal the first time that all four world titles have been up for grabs in boxing’s marquee division.
Discussions are seemingly underway to deliver the bout before the end of 2022 and Khan is already putting in requests for the contest to go ahead.
"Tyson wants to make that big money. Everyone is running to Saudi Arabia because they want that big cheque,” said Khan when speaking to Sky Sports.
“I spoke to Tyson a few days ago and said: 'listen, maybe we can help you get that fight'.
"You know what his answer was: 'I want £500 million'. I was like okay. I speak to the Saudi Government.
“I know Turki Al-Sheikh quite well, the guy who makes it happen in Saudi Arabia and I have not sent him that message yet, but I am going to tell him he wants £500 million. That is crazy, isn't it?"
