Andre Ward is predicting a difficult night for both fighters when Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia finally clash later this month.
With the boxing industry seemingly split on who emerges victorious, Ward has questioned Garcia’s ability to withstand Davis’ power as a key factor in the fight and thinks if his fellow Californian can take a shot then he has a real chance of grabbing a win.
Davis’ power is undoubtedly his greatest asset and it’s the key reason why he’s enjoyed multiple successes in his career so far.
Despite facing seasoned names like Leo Santa Cruz, Jose Pedraza, and Isaac Cruz, it appears that Davis is taking a step up against Garcia.
Ward, a former two-weight world champion, has provided his verdict on the fight.
“The question for Ryan Garcia is can he take a punch?” said Ward when discussing next week’s intriguing clash with Fight Hub TV.
“When Gervonta lands can he take that, keep his composure, and keep trying to execute his game plan? If he does that then he’s got a shot.
“It’s not going to be easy for either guy and I don’t think that fight goes the distance no matter which way you swing it.”
