Andre Ward walked away from boxing in 2017, but only after the Oakland native made an incredible mark on the sport.
An Olympic gold medallist and two-weight world champion, Ward ended his career unbeaten and went out on a remarkable high as he became the first man to stop Sergey Kovalev.
Despite being a boxing superstar, Ward caught the attention of the Jordan brand when building his career and that allowed him to spend time with Michael Jordan, the man behind the world-renowned logo.
Ward has pointed out how serious the basketball legend is regarding his clothing line to the point that he even checked out the footwear of Ward and his friend during a meeting.
"We're all in a boardroom at the facility. He comes in there scanning shoes. You know I was good but one of my guys had on some Adidas though,” said Ward when speaking on All The Smoke podcast.
“People in that industry, they take it seriously. He came in and was like, 'What's up with your man?' I'm like, 'I told you, bro, not to wear them'. He ain't right for that.”
