Andy Lee thinks Daniel Dubois has proved his doubters wrong but expects him to "revert to type" against Joseph Parker after he called out Oleksandr Usyk for a rematch.
The two men meet as co-headliners at Riyadh Season's The Last Crescendo, with the Briton putting his IBF heavyweight title on the line against the revived New Zealander.
Ahead of next month's bout though, Dubois raised eyebrows when he stepped into the ring after Usyk's win over Tyson Fury in December and pushed for a rematch.
The former lost in 2023 against the Ukrainian star, and Lee feels that while he has improved since then, he will not get past a resurgent Parker after he beat Zhilei Zhang.
"There is a lot of talk about Daniel fighting Usyk but [he] fought him already, and in that fight, [he] went down off a jab," he told DAZN's Face-Off. "The fight ended on a jab.
"What was going through [his] mind at that time? When [he] is under the same pressure, [he] will revert back to type.
"All the doubts people have had about Daniel, he's proved them wrong and wiped them clean. We're going in with the best in-form fighter in the world.
"So when Joe wins, we'll take all the credit. [Joseph] had a fantastic year, in terms of the year with Zhang.
"It was more of a continuation from the work of 2023 where he fought three times and beat Deontay Wilder. Then we just rolled straight into Zhang."
