The two heavyweights have long been linked to face each other in the ring.

Former world heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are supposedly close to agreeing deals to fight on December 23 in Saudi Arabia according to Dan Rafael

December 23 was set to be the date for the undisputed heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, however, this has been pushed back with Fury needing time to recover after a gruelling battle with Francis Ngannou in October.

Oragnisers in Saudi Arabia are hoping to still stage a fight card on this date with Joshua and Wilder reportedly set to feature, albeit against different opponents.

If these plans do materialise, then this could open the door for the pair to meet at some point in 2024 after talks were re-ignited for a huge heavyweight clash earlier this year.

Joshua and Wilder are not the only big names being targeted for December 23, there is also chance WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol could feature.

Bivol has not fought since November 2022 when he successfully defended his WBA 175lb title against Gilberto Ramirez and a fight before the year is out could be crucial if he is to get the best preparation ahead of an undisputed light heavyweight title showdown against Artur Beterbiev.
