Anthony Joshua has too much power for Oleksandr Usyk, claims Mikey GarciaDAZN
The 31-year-old British heavyweight is tipped for the win by the welterweight fighter.

Mikey Garcia believes Anthony Joshua is the favourite to win his fight against Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk is Joshua’s WBO mandatory challenger and the WBO, WBA and IBF belts will be on the line on September 25.

The 34-year-old Ukrainian was the former undisputed cruiserweight champion before stepping up to heavyweight and is seen as a more technical boxer than fighters who have always fought in the sport’s heaviest class.

The 33-year-old American welterweight thinks that Joshua’s size and power advantage will see him win, he told the DAZN Boxing Show.

“That's a tough one,” he began.

“I mean, I've seen Usyk before. And he's, he's a very good fighter. A little awkward sometimes. But I think he's not as big as he needs to be to beat Anthony Joshua.

“I think Josh would be the more natural, much bigger fighter. He showed great boxing skills, great display of boxing footwork and boxing skills in the past, I think I think that's what's gonna give him the edge.

“If he starts to trade punches, then sure I could see Usyk pulling it off, but I just think Joshua is a better boxer. And especially that much bigger and natural, and more disciplined. And I think that's what helps him carry on and win the fight.”
