Anthony Joshua has been through some gruelling battles during his career.

Throughout his professional boxing career, former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has featured in some of the divsion's most brutal battles.

From a hard-hitting affair against Wladimir Klitschko to an energy sapping 24-round clash with Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua has fought some of the most feared names in his weight class.

But when it comes to the contest where he felt the most pain, it actually came in an amateur clash against Azebaijan's Mahammadrasul Majidov.

"I remember a tough fight in 2011, the final of the World Championships against a fighter from Azerbaijan," Joshua told Men's Health

"He had knocked out everyone to get to the final, we had a real f—g tear-up, he was so strong.

“I was inexperienced, making silly mistakes, and I walked on to one of his punches. Force meeting the force. Boom!

"I’ll never forget that punch. I lost by one point. So there was emotional pain and physical pain.”
