Andre Ward caused a small shock recently when he said that a fight against Joe Calzaghe would be more difficult than facing Anthony Joshua.
Ward, a former world champion at super-middleweight and light-heavyweight, was considering a step up to heavyweight at one point, but Carl Froch has dismissed the idea and claims Joshua wouldve been too big for the man who beat him in 2011.
Froch and Ward met in the final of the World Super Six Series and although Ward won, Froch was always eager to test himself in a rematch.
Ward would go onto win further world titles after defeating Froch and after possessing ambitions to challenge himself up at heavyweight, Ward would eventually retire from boxing in 2017.
“AJ is six feet six and 18 stone, Andre Ward wouldn't have a f-----g chance,” said Froch when speaking to Lord Ping.
“Boxing is a weight governed sport, Ward is talking nonsense. I think he gives Calzaghe a really tough fight though, that's a tough night for Calzaghe, a great fight, but he's talking bullshit about Anthony Joshua.
“AJ is too big and too strong for Andre Ward, I'd actually enjoy watching AJ knockout Andre Ward, I'd pay to see it.”
