Zhilei Zhang is backing Daniel Dubois to emerge victorious in a second meeting with Anthny Joshua if a rematch gets confirmed between the pair.
Last month, Joshua was dropped four times before being stopped in the fifth round with the result preventing him from becoming world champion for a third time.
In the aftermath of the heavyweight upset, both fighters have been linked to several contests with other high profile names including Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Eddie Hearn, the promoter of Joshua, had indicated his man is ready to test himself against Joshua again, but Zhang, a top contender at heavyweight, believes things could get worse for Joshua if he takes on Dubois again.
“Joshua has been on top of the pyramid for years and when you’re on top of the food chain that definitely changes your mentality a bit,” said Zhang when speaking to Seconds Out .
“This defeat, I don’t know where it puts him mentally, but I think the rematch will be a worse-case scenario for Joshua.”
