Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou: AJ explains what makes Ngannou such a tough opponentMark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing

Anthony Joshua is in the final stretch of preparations for his massive meeting against Francis Ngannou on Friday, live worldwide on DAZN PPV.

A victory against Ngannou could propel the two-time former unified world heavyweight champion into a future title fight, with current champions Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk set to face off in a bout to determine the division's undisputed champion in May.

While "AJ" is certainly keen to get himself back into the title picture, the 34-year-old says he's putting his entire attention on Ngannou before thinking about anything else, and this week he shared what makes the Cameroonian former UFC champion such a challenging opponent.

"I won't talk about his boxing aspect or his MMA aspect, because I think that's all everyone will know about him," Joshua said on DAZN's Off The Cuff. "I look at his mindset more so because it all starts with the mind.

"[He's] probably someone who has a goal, he's always said he wants to be a boxer from a young age. He's a dream chaser and he's an achiever, so I'll listen to what he has to say about this fight and then he'll give away his mindset, his game plan and what he wants to do.

"But he'll come to win, like most people do of course, but in terms of his story about how he's come to France [to pursue his combat sports ambitions] and went to America and that type of stuff and wanted to go to England and all that type of stuff, that shows someone who's determined, willing, and will do whatever it takes to acheieve his goals."

While Ngannou is known for his power and showed the boxing world that he can knock an elite heavyweight to the mat during his debut fight against Fury last year, Joshua said that it's the 37-year-old's determination that makes him "probably one of the toughest fights" in his career.

"I'll always make someone better than what they are in my own head," Joshua explained. "Remember he went up against the generational best ever in Tyson Fury, I'm just quoting what other people said.

"If I put Fury on his a— I wouldn't let him get up. But everyone says he's a generational great, and Ngannou managed to do something that no one expected, so he's done well.

"He's a determined man, he's got something about him."
