Teddy Atlas believes that Francis Ngannou’s power can be a factor in a potential fight with Anthony Joshua, but he insists the British fighter should be favourite.
The heavyweight pair are expected to clash in March in what will be a huge encounter, and Atlas is the latest boxing figure to have his say on the fight.
Last October, Ngannou almost caused one of the biggest shocks in boxing history when he dropped Tyson Fury before narrowly losing on points.
His reward for such a strong effort appears to be a showdown with Joshua and the Frenchman will face a fighter in form following three straightforward wins in 2023.
“Ngannou is a great athlete. He is confident. He has the mental toughness and the belief in himself," said Atlas when speaking on The Fight podcast.
“Joshua is a guy some people think is a little chinny. We know Ngannou can punch. If he can put his hand on that chin, who knows? But you’d have to figure Joshua is a favourite.”
