Tony Bellew is backing Anthony Joshua to win in impressive style if he faces Francis Ngannou later this year.
News broke at the backend of last week that Joshua and Ngannou will head to Saudi Arabia in March for a huge heavyweight encounter just a few weeks after Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk meet.
Ngannou gate-crashed the heavyweight rankings last October when he produced a stunning performance to nearly upset Fury.
The current WBC champion was floored by Ngannou and now he may have the opportunity to cause another shock when he takes on Joshua.
Despite winning the respect of the boxing community in 2023, Bellew doesn't expect Ngannou to have similar success against Joshua.
“I’m going with AJ and I’m expecting him to do it in a brutal manner too,” said Bellew when speaking exclusively to DAZN.
“Fury and Joshua are fighters with different approaches and if Joshua goes into this fully prepared and focused then he’ll win easily.
“Ngannou proved a lot of people wrong against Fury, but this is a different fight and I’m expecting Joshua to flatten him in about one or two rounds.”
