Carl Froch would back the best version of Frank Bruno to overcome Anthony Joshua when discussing a fantasy fight between the British boxing icons.
Joshua returns to action on September 21 when he faces Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, the same venue where Bruno became heavyweight champion in 1995 when outpointing Oliver McCall.
During a long and painful career, Bruno endured some difficult nights, but he finally realised his dream when dethroning McCall on a memorable night in London.
During his run as an elite heavyweight, Bruno took on some huge names such as Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis, and Froch has spoken on how a fight between Bruno and Joshua might’ve played out.
"The Frank Bruno that fought Lennox Lewis in Cardiff back in the 90s, that Frank Bruno beats Anthony Joshua," said Froch when speaking to the BestOnlinePokerSites YouTube channel .
"I’m sorry but he just does. It’s just all about timing and you can’t hold that against Anthony Joshua.
"I know they call it heavyweight, but it’s very thin now. The landscape of heavyweight boxing. It’s not what it used to be.”
