The promoter expects the details to be ironed out in the coming months.

Eddie Hearn wants to put on the Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury fight on this summer and believes it is the biggest fight in boxing.

The contract for the fight is now signed and Hearn explained why he was waiting for the deal to be agreed before looking at venues for any event.

“We’ve been quite transparent the whole way,” explained Hearn to Ak & Barak on DAZN.

“There’s loads of people involved, some people don’t like each other, most people have got huge egos.

“We wanted to get this fight signed before we started talking to all these different sites. Because without that it’s pie in the sky stuff.

“So the fantastic news is that it’s signed. The first process, which I believe to be the most difficult of the two processes - because we‘re not struggling for people who want to stage this fight - is everyone has signed. Now it’s time to confirm the venue and the date.

“Without that there would be no chance of getting the fight done. Now it’s happened and we’re moving at pace.”

With the contracts signed, Hearn was ready to talk up the size of the fight to come, and he does not want to wait any longer than necessary.

“This fight is four times the size of Joshua-[Andy] Ruiz.

“It’s the biggest fight in the world, it’s the biggest fight in boxing. I’m sure some people would rather do it in September, October, November, but that’s not on the table. What is on the table is June and July.

“The fighters have to sign off on the site deal. We all do. We’ll gather those options and present them to the fighters. No one can be more committed than signing the contract. Now we have to do the job for the fighters and the fans, and make sure the biggest fight in boxing is delivered this summer.”

The Matchroom promoter told the pair that Joshua cannot wait to get into the ring.

“He just wants to get his hands on Tyson Fury. He’s been training since [Kubrat] Pulev with one man on his mind. He just wants to get in the ring with him and take his belts from him.

“AJ wants this bad. Fury wants this fight. It doesn’t get bigger than this.”
