A fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is "the biggest fight" in the history of boxing.

That's the opinion of Matchroom's Eddie Hearn, who was speaking to The DAZN Boxing Show at the London press conference for Joshua's rematch with WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury, who is the WBC champion, claims to be retired after beating Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium last April, but he will surely have a keen eye on August 20 in Saudi Arabia if he wants to secure an undisputed title fight against the winner of Usyk vs. Joshua 2.

Joshua was set to face Fury last Summer when a deal between the two camps was agreed, but the scheduled fight fell through after a U.S. court ruled that Fury needs to fight Deontay Wilder for a third time.

However, if Joshua does beat Usyk to become a three-time world heavyweight champion next month, Hearn will not be afraid to make an approach to Fury for an all-British undisputed heavyweight title showdown.

"He can do what he wants, everyone’s got that right as an individual," Hearn said when asked about Fury's retirement claims.

"But he’s also a competitor, he also loves a pound note and Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury is not just the biggest fight in boxing, the biggest fight ever in the sport of boxing.

"Let’s get this job done first and then we’ll come and see Tyson Fury."
