Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury: 'We're just waiting for them to sign,' says Eddie HearnDAZN
Joshua vs Fury is just signatures from being confirmed, according to one of the megafight's promoters.

The latest update regarding a heavyweight superfight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury was provided by the former’s promoter as Eddie Hearn was the special guest on The Ak and Barak show.

Discussing a number of topics relating to Matchroom and DAZN, Hearn was asked for the latest development on the situation relating to the eagerly anticipated event between Joshua and Fury.

“We’re just waiting for them to sign,” revealed Hearn. “There’s quite a lot of people from their side who has to sign, From our side, it’s a little bit different.

“When we agreed terms, we said to these guys ‘look, go around all your people and get it signed, and then we’ll be ready to go’. That process is taking longer than we expected. I did actually speak to Team Fury last night who said that we should get it back in the next 24 or 48 hours so we’ll see.”

With Hearn expressing a manner of confidence that things are all fine on Joshua’s side, the Matchroom man was pushed on why such an occasion requires the influence of many figures if it’s Joshua and Fury doing the fighting. Hearn was quick to identify the issue.

“Because everybody has got a piece of that Tyson Fury pie. On Anthony Joshua’s side, there’s Anthony and 258, which is his management company, and us [Matchroom] so we’re very simple.

“For those guys, it’s the management company, it’s Top Rank, it’s Queensbury, it’s Tyson Fury, and they’re all over the world. I don’t know whether there’s some internal sorting out their pieces of the pie, but that’s not our business. What we’re saying is ‘we’re ready.’”

The Ak and Barak Show is exclusive to both DAZN and Sirius XM Fight Nation. You can watch the latest episode here.
