Many big names from the boxing world have taken part in exhibition fights in recent years, as fighters turn back the clock for a night and put on a show for long-time fans.

Another former world champion has put his name forth as a potential exhibition competitor, as Antonio Tarver revealed that he would be eager to step into the ring one more time without the pressures of chasing a title or building a career.

Naturally, Tarver has some names in mind for potential opponents, although he's not sure if the public would agree.

"The only fight that people seem to let me have is Roy Jones Jr – that’s the only guy I can fight it seems," Tarver said to Betway

"I fancy the exhibition game and believe I can be a positive asset to it but in everything I try to do, I want to do it big."

While many would like to see Tarver mix it up again with Jones — the duo had a memorable trilogy of fights in the 2000s — the former unified light heavyweight and IBO cruiserweight world champion has eyes for some other big names in the combat sports world.

One such name stands above the rest, though.

"If I were to do an exhibition fight, it would be against a big MMA giant or a major boxing giant like Mike Tyson or the likes of a Logan Paul or Jake Paul," Tarver said.

"I think it’s suitable for a guy like me. It would be an honour to don the ring with the great legendary ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson who has been one of the biggest names in the sport forever.

"When you look at what he did together with Roy Jones Jr, it was incredible. Could you imagine Mike Tyson against Antonio Tarver in an exhibition?

"A lot of people would like to show up and see 'could Mike Tyson land a bomb on Antonio Tarver or could the ‘Magic Man’ pull a trick out of his hat one more time?'"
