'The Lion' is eyeing a fight with Joe Joyce next but also has his eyes on the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua.

Unbeaten Russian fighter Arslanbek Makhmudov wants to battle Joe Joyce as he aims to claim a world heavyweight belt.

Makhmudov last fought in October to score a first-round win over Dillon Carman, making it his eleventh consecutive stoppage in 11 professional fights.

Promoter Camille Estephan told Sky Sports that he is aiming to secure his fighter another bout in March.

"We expect Arslanbek to be back in action in March in the USA," Estephan said.

"Everything depends on how the situation will be according to the Covid-19 pandemic."

Estephan continued, explaining that he is looking for a fight higher up the rankings, saying: "I think that he showed that he is in a league of his own and that he is ready for the top guys in his division.

"We have to go through the process to get him there because nobody wants to fight him right now.

"We would love Arslanbek to fight a champion but now they are all fighting each other. Joe Joyce is the one we want next."

While it seems that Oleksandr Usyk may be next in line to fight the winner of Anthony Josha vs. Tyson Fury after their unification fight, Estephan threw his client’s hat into the ring.

“Arslanbek will be watching for sure,” he said.

"He is training and he is in very good shape. He is ready to do everything he can to take those titles one day."
