Shawn Porter has seen some recent flaws in Artur Beterbiev, but he doesn't think that they’ll cost him against Callum Smith.
The former welterweight world champion retied from boxing in 2021 following a stoppage loss to Terence Crawford and he’s now one of the most respected voices on the sport he contributed so much to.
Smith enters the fight a significant underdog as he looks to become the first man to defeat the heavy-handed light-heavyweight champion.
All of Beterbiev’s wins have come before the final bell and although Smith has a decent number of backers within the sport, Porter is not one of them and he’s picking Beterbiev to maintain his undefeated run.
“Beterbiev is getting a little bit older, along with that his style, I’ve seen some deterioration from him, not moving as sharp, but he is still catching up with everybody,” said Porter on his podcast.
“I don’t think Callum Smith is the guy, but I do want to go on record to say we’re going to see who he is now.”
