After unified light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev stopped Callum Smith on January 13, there was only one fight fans wanted to see next, a showdown with WBA champion Dmitry Bivol for the undisputed light heavyweight title.
Bivol was last in action during December's "Day of Reckoning" card where he made easy work of Lyndon Arthur and made no secret that he wanted Beterbiev next.
Now with both men coming through their respective fights unscathed, it is looking possible an undisputed 175lb title fight is next with Saudi Arabia being named as a potential host.
For fans, it should be an entertaining affair with Beterbiev's hard hitting, front foot style going up against the slick movement of Bivol.
Speaking to BoxingScene.com, Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang who has formed a reputation for being one of the division's most feared fighters, believes the fight will end in a knockout finish.
“They’re both great fighters but Beterbiev will hurt him and probably end this fight with a knockout," Zhang said.
“I think Beterbiev’s power will overwhelm Bivol’s in-and-out footwork and his skillset. I think Beterbiev is just way too strong.”
