Beterbiev is one of boxing's biggest names.

John Scully believes there are plenty of options in front of Artur Beterbiev after watching his fighter defeat Dmitry Bivol this past weekend.

Beterbiev became undisputed champion at light-heavyweight with a majority points win over is great rival, and although plenty of people would like to see an immediate rematch, Scully, a part of Beterbiev’s training team, has explained that other fighters may get the next shot at Beterbiev.

Beterbiev overcame a tricky start against Bivol to make his mark in the middle rounds before a strong finish got him over the line on the final scorecards.

The closeness of the bout has the boxing world eager to see a rematch, and although that could be an option, Scully has named a couple of fighters who could be in the frame to face Beterbiev in 2025.

“Looking forward, you have [David] Benavidez who’s in there and you have [Joshua] Buatsi, who’s really strong. That could be a nuclear war fight. So, there are fights at light-heavy, 100%,” said Scully when speaking to The Stomping Ground

Benavidez is looking to make big moves at 175lbs after a successful run at super-middleweight where he reigned as world champion.

Buatsi is also gaining momentum and his most recent win, against Willy Hutchinson, made him WBO interim champion.

“We wouldn’t need to go to cruiserweight. No disrespect at all, but I don’t even know any cruiserweights or who the champions are.

“So, fights with Benavidez and Buatsi, I think those would be big light-heavyweight fights. But I think everybody in the world would say today they have to do a rematch. I think everybody would say that.”
