Tyson Fury is the number one heavyweight on the planet despite serious competition from Oleksandr Usyk.
That’s the verdict of Audley Harrison, a fighter who once held dreams of ruling the heavyweight division but who fell short in his sole world title shot against David Haye back in 2010 when he was stopped in the third round.
The current heavyweight landscape is very competitive and although Fury and Usyk lead the way in the top positions, the likes of Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang are aiming to make a big impact.
Harrison, the 2000 Olympic gold medallist, is still a keen observer of the sport and he has no doubt who is the best heavyweight.
“Right now, number one for me is Tyson Fury,” said Harrison when discussing the best heavyweights with ES News.
“Because even though Usyk has got the belts, Deontay Wilder is a match for anybody, and I think he’d beat Usyk.
“So, the fact Tyson Fury beat him three times, for me puts him at number one. That’s how I see it, but the only way we’re going to resolve it is if they fight.”
