After being unable to find a replacement opponent for Javier Fortuna, Golden Boy Promotions has announced the postponement of the Aug. 28 card.

Golden Boy Promotions has formally announced that the fight card scheduled for Aug. 28 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif., has been postponed after a positive COVID-19 test result from Jorge Linares. 

Linares (47-5, 29 KOs) was slated to face Javier Fortuna (35-2-1, 24 KOs) in the main event prior to the positive test. Linares had been preparing to face Fortuna in Japan when the result came in on Aug. 7. 

With no suitable replacement, Golden Boy decided to postpone the bout and annouced that it will look to reschedule the fight.

"Although sporting events around the world continue to face ongoing uncertainty due to the pandemic, we remain committed to presenting top-tier fights for our fans to enjoy," a statement issued by Golden Boy Promotions read. "Details for the new date will be announced in the near future."
