Austin 'Ammo' Williams explains how to avoid upset against late replacement

Austin 'Ammo' Williams explains how to avoid upset against late replacementDAZN
There's a middleweight clash on DAZN tonight.

Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams explained how he would defeat Armel Mbumba-Yassa on Saturday night.

The latter stepped in to fight Williams as a late replacement as Connor Coyle had to drop out with an elbow injury.

Mbumba-Yassa is an unbeaten fighter with 10 wins and seven knockouts while Williams is 15-0 with 10 KOs, with many thinking Williams’ record is the more impressive in terms of fighters faced.

Nonetheless, better fighters than Williams have slipped up when they come up against fighters at short notice, and the southpaw middleweight has already checked out his new opponent to avoid being caught out when they meet live on DAZN.com tonight.

“I’ve watched him fight,” Williams told BoxingScene.com.

“He’s a somewhat athletic guy, not totally athletic. … He’s taking a major step up and it’s gonna show.

“Like I said in the press conference, it’s gonna be about a minute and 30 seconds into the first round, when the jitters are off and he’s throwing his fastest punches and he’s settled into the fight and he’s got hit a few times, you’ll see a completely different demeanour in him than how he comes out at the opening bell.

“He’s a completely different style than Conor Coyle, I mean totally.

“But all I have to do is dig into my toolbox, as far as what he’ll be. He’s a shorter guy, he’s athletic, he fights in spurts. He doesn’t have good feet and he’ll try to tee off combinations here and there, then move around on the inside. All I have to do is just change my mindset, as far as the type of fight that I wanna fight or the style that works best against somebody like him.”
