Bernard Hopkins just wants to see fighters fight.

Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney continue to engage in a war of words ahead of a potential fight, but Bernard Hopkins just wants to see the talented pair share a ring together.

Haney ended 2023 in impressive fashion as he dominated Regis Prograis to win the WBC belt at 140lbs following a successful period at lightweight where he was the undisputed champion.

2024 could be a prosperous year for Haney and one fighter who could feature prominently for him is Garcia.

The brilliant Californian was defeated by Gervonta Davis last year, but he responded well in December to defeat Oscar Duarte.

Garcia, like Haney, is chasing big opportunities this year and Hopkins has urged both men to stop talking and to get it on.

“Boxing fans are tired of hearing lip service. They want to hear that ‘oh we’ve got this contract signed’ rather than ‘I want to fight this guy,’” said Hopkins when speaking to FightHype

“I think that the drama queens are starting to get to the point where fans are turned off and don’t care who they fight or when they fight.

“That’s the risk that happens when you make a soap opera out of it.”
