Beterbiev, Bivol, Benavidez: Canelo will take on the best, claims MoraDAZN
The super middleweight may have to change his divisions if he can't land Caleb Plant.

Former light middleweight champion Sergio Mora believes that Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will not take the easy option, whoever he fights next.

Canelo was expected to take on Caleb Plant in September in an attempt to become the undisputed super middleweight champion.

However after his impressive win over Billy Joe Saunders in May, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has hinted there has been little progress in securing a fight for the remaining belt.

Other fighters have been put forward, with the suggestion that he could move back up to light heavyweight in pursuit of another title, after already fighting and beating Sergey Kovalev.

Speaking on JABS as part of the DAZN Boxing Show, Mora said that he has a lot of options to test him, and put on a spectacle.

“That fight with Kovalev was a calculated risk,” explained Mora.

“If he fights [Artur] Beterbiev it’ll just be a flat-out dangerous risk, but that's what Canelo likes to do. He likes to surprise boxing, but with the biggest fans and give the fans what they want.

“Whenever people talk about fighters, champions not giving the fans the fight they deserve. This is what they're talking about.

“I’ll become comfortable with either Triple B - Beterbiev, [Dmitry] Bivol, [David] Benavidez, either way, Canelo does take on the best.”
