Chris Eubank Jr has been labelled ‘a waste of space’ by the man who inflicted the first professional defeat on him.
Billy Joe Saunders, inactive since losing to Canelo Alvarez over two years ago, is still plotting his next move but it doesn’t appear like his former rival is in his plans if he does decide to return to the ring.
Eubank Jr was scheduled to face Liam Smith in a rematch in July, but that fight is no longer taking place.
A potential rescheduling of the bout could happen, and the Brighton man could also revisit his feud with Conor Benn. Regardless of his next move, it’s almost certain that Eubank Jr won’t win the respect of Saunders.
“Just get rid of him, he’s a waste of space at the minute to be fair,” said Saunders when speaking to iFLTV.
“As far as I’m concerned, he should be on the unlicensed boxing shows because he needs to rebuild himself, and who’s going to rebuild him now? I think they’ll just use him as a big-name opponent now.
“He would be a good warm up fight for me to come back to, but he just doesn’t deserve it.”
