Bob Arum has long been a fan of Naoya Inoue, but after promoting the Japanese star for a lengthy period now, the veteran promoter is ever more impressed.
Inoue’s impressive rise has seen him collect world titles in four divisions and he is looking to add more accolades to his incredible list of honours.
Next month, Inoue will welcome Luis Nery to Japan and a win will see him become undisputed champion at a second weight class.
It is possible Inoue may move up to featherweight after cleaning up at super-bantamweight, and Arum has paid tribute to the pound-for-pound contender.
“It’s scary what I’m seeing. He so overwhelms his opponents, really good opponents. I’ve never seen a fighter of that size perform the way he has,” said Arum when speaking to Fight Hub TV.
“Maybe a Salvador Sanchez had that ability, but even then, he didn’t win all his fights by knockout. Inoue goes into these fights, he boxes these guys and then he knocks them out.”
