Bob Arum believes that Teofimo Lopez Jr. would not be the favourite up against Regis Prograis.

Lopez last fought on December 10, when he came up against experienced Spaniard Sandor Martin.

The 25-year-old American won, but the victory came by split decision and saw Lopez hit the canvas once.

The fight was his second at 140 lbs, and he is looking to rebuild his career at light welterweight having struggled in his last lightweight clash, when he lost his four belts at 135 lbs to Australian challenger George Kambosos Jr.

Arum, Lopez’s promoter, was asked if he was confident that the fighter was settled in at the new weight.

“No,” he told the press, reported BoxingScene.com. “I think it's an adjustment. Five pounds sounds like nothing, but it's a lot of weight.”

Lopez’s next move could come against a fellow Arum fighter, but all of Josh Taylor, Jose Ramirez, Jose Zepeda, Jose Pedraza, Arnold Barboza Jr., and Giovanni Cabrera pose a tough test.

Prograis is another option, and is the WBC champion after recently defeating Zepeda.

Arum, though, believes Prograis would be the favourite.

“I think you'd have to favour Prograis, but I think Teofimo could beat him,” said Arum.
