Bob Arum believes that Tyson Fury has redoubled his training camp efforts ahead of his fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury’s last fight was in October in Saudi Arabia, when he scraped past Francis Ngannou to avoid an upset and keep his unbeaten record intact.
However he was far from convincing, and now faces what is likely going to be a much tougher challenge when he takes on Usyk, live on DAZN PPV on May 18 .
Arum is Fury’s co-promoter, and he told Sky Sports that Fury has stepped up in training before next month's fight.
"Let's not put the cart before the horse. May 18 is an awfully competitive, really competitive, heavyweight championship fight for all the marbles," Arum said.
"He will give Tyson Fury everything Tyson can handle. So hopefully the Tyson that shows up on May 18 is not the Tyson that fought [Francis] Ngannou and I really believe from the reports I get that Tyson has really buckled down and is training very, very hard for this.
"I can't wait to see that fight."
