The judges' scoring was again in dispute.

Brian Castano’s manager was once again shocked by the scoring during his fighter’s match-up with Jermell Charlo at the weekend.

Castano and Charlo fought last year as they put the four super welterweight belts on the line and many observers believed the Argentine had done enough to emerge as the undisputed champion. However the judges scored the bout a draw, and the two fighters arranged a rematch.

That was ultimately delayed until last weekend, and this time the scores were rendered moot as the 31-year-old American delivered a knockout in the 10th round to secure the last belt not in his possession.

Speaking after the fight, Sebastian Contursi expressed disbelief that judge Glenn Feldman had awarded eight of nine full rounds in favour of the eventual winner.

David Sutherland and Zachary Young, the other two judges, also had Charlo winning at the time of the knockout, but by a narrower margin.

“My comment on that: bullsh—  again,” Contursi exclaimed, reported BoxingScene.com. “Even worse than in Texas. This is a joke. We didn’t know.”

Castano also expressed his disbelief, saying: “What can I say? Everybody is entitled to their own judgement.

“But, you know, probably I have to start changing and become, myself, a counter-puncher because it’s not working with the judges.”

“It was definitely a tough fight,” Castano continued. “I need to watch it, of course. But what I really like is the atmosphere, how the fans and the people get caught up in the heat of the fight. It’s always a pleasure for me to transmit that to fans. That’s my style.”
