British fighter vows to become two-weight world champion by beating his opponent on away territory

One fighter has a huge chance later this year.

Lawrence Okolie will travel to Poland in May as he looks to become a world champion in a second weight class.

Okolie faces Lukasz Rozanski for the WBC bridgerweight title as he aims to put behind him the misery of losing his WBO cruiserweight belt last year.

In May 2023, Okolie was dropped multiple times by Chris Billam-Smith before losing on the scorecards to the Bournemouth man.

The fight damaged Okolie’s reputation, but a win on away territory can go one step to restoring it, and he’s promising to deliver in front of his opponent's supporters.

"At this point it would mean everything. Winning and losing a world title, I can see the difference, so I want it and I want it bad,” said Okolie when speaking to Sky Sports

"It's given me that extra 'I'm going to smash him in front of his own fans' so we're nine short weeks away and then I'll get it done."
