Can a fully rehydrated Ryan Garcia beat Gervonta Davis in a rematch?DAZN

Sergio Mora believes the result in a Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia rematch would still go Davis' way even if 'King Ry' came into the contest fully rehydrated.

There was no doubt that Davis was in control before he stopped Garcia in round seven on Saturday night, but some question whether the outcome would be the same if the 24-year-old was able to fully rehydrate and not have to meet the requirements of strict rehydration clause.

When asked by Dan Hardy whether a fully rehydrated Garcia would stand a chance against Davis, Mora explained that the young American will reap the benefits, but it will not make a difference if he was to meet 'Tank' for a second time.

"I would say it would make a slight difference because when you are a tall fighter you can distribute that weight, so he’ll come in heavier," Mora told The DAZN MMA Show

"You don’t have the rehydration clause in your head so you can rehydrate as much as you want and not worry about it when it comes to fight night.

"When you’re the taller, bigger fighter, you’re going to be the heaver fighter so it will make a difference in his confidence.

"Ultimately I still think Garcia gets stopped because it’s not the weight or the confidence that is going to be the problem, it’s the technique and the fact that Garcia doesn’t know how to fight a smaller, explosive fighter."
