Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez called Gennadiy Golovkin an ‘a—hole’ and said he wanted to knock the ‘motherf—’ out when they fight.
The pair meet for a the third time on September 17 in a fight which will be shown live on DAZN PPV in the U.S., Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand as well as around the world on DAZN (excluding Mexico, Latin America, and Kazakhstan).
The bout had briefly been in doubt after the Mexican’s defeat to Dmitry Bivol in May but any light heavyweight rematch has been put on hold for the trilogy fight with GGG.
Speaking to TMZ, Canelo detailed his problems with his erstwhile opponent.
"He's a f—ing a—hole," Canelo said.
"He's not honest. He pretends to be a good person and be different but he's not."
Canelo continued: "He talks a lot of s— about me. "He'll say, 'I respect him, his career.' And, other part, 'He's an embarrassing boxer, he's embarrassing for Mexican boxing.'
"I hate that motherf—r because of that."
"My goal is to end this fight before the 12 rounds," Canelo said in an earlier interview.
"I'm 100% focused on this fight [with Golovkin] because it's a dangerous fight but 100% looking for a second fight with Bivol."
