Canelo Alvarez may be unbeatable, says Eddie HearnDAZN
Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn says he has never seen a fighter like Canelo before, ahead of his next fight against Avni Yildirim live on DAZN.

Eddie Hearn has, in his capacity as boxing promoter, seen many of the sport's very best over the last three decades do their thing live and in person. However he believes Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez could end going down as the best he's ever seen.

Hearn and Canelo look set to continue their working agreement through 2021, after the Matchroom chief helped produce the Mexican's WBA (Super), WBC and The Ring super-middleweight champion Callum Smith in December.

Avni Yildirim is next on Feb. 27 in a mandatory title defence, and if the champ emerges victorious and without a scratch, Smith's Matchroom stablemate Billy Joe Saunders is reportedly next on Cinco de Mayo weekend in a unification superfight.

Hearn joined The Ak and Barak Show (on DAZN and Sirius XM Fight Nation) to discuss Canelo vs. Yildirim, what the Turkish challenger must do to pull off an upset, and Alvarez's likely legacy in the sport.

"I just don’t know how Yildirim beats Canelo," Hearn said. "Billy Joe Saunders, if he faces Alvarez, will be fast feet, moving around. For Yildirim, he can’t do that.

"He doesn’t have the ability to go in there and do what Lara and Trout and Mayweather did.

"The only thing he can do is to try and fight fire with fire, and hope he gets lucky, quite frankly. But the only way you’re going to get lucky is if you pull one out the bag.

"I think this guy might be unbeatable. I’ve been been watching boxing live for 34 years and I’ve never seen a fighter like Canelo in the flesh. He’s just getting better and better."

You can watch the entire episode of Ak and Barak, as the duo and Hearn preview Canelo vs. Yildirim, discuss Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury and more, here with a DAZN subscription for as little as £1.99 per month depending on your region.

Canelo vs. Yildirim will air live on DAZN on Saturday Feb. 27 worldwide except Mexico. To join, click here. However fight fans in Argentina, Colombia and Chile should download the DAZN app direct to their device via Apple App Store or Google Play for Android and sign up via the app.
