Eddie Hearn believes Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is not interested in facing unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. in a catchweight contest.
Canelo returns to action this Saturday live on DAZN (except Mexico and Latin America) where he takes on WBA light-heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol in Las Vegas.
Before the fight with Bivol was announced, there was a chance the Mexican could have faced Errol Spence Jr. or Jermall Charlo, but promoter Eddie Hearn claims that these were fights which didn't interest Canelo.
"I mean, one, I don’t think Canelo would ever box under 168," Hearn told Fight Hub TV.
"Two, you have to understand what Canelo Alvarez is all about, which is fighting champions, dethroning champions, fights that pose challenges for him, fights that create history.
"And that’s the thing with a Charlo fight, with a Spence fight — he’d fight them all but I know him and it really doesn’t do anything for him.”
