Chris Mannix and Sergio Mora analyse the Turkish outsider's best chances to overcome the odds and defeat Canelo on Feb. 27.

Nobody really gives Avni Yildirim much of a chance against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez when he challenges the pound-for-pound superstar for his WBA (Super), WBC and The Ring super-middleweight titles on February 27, live on DAZN across the globe (except Mexico).

However, the Turkish contender's trainer Joel Diaz recently claimed that fans should not use his previous bouts to gauge his chances, because they have worked tirelessly to overhaul his fighting style with Canelo specifically in mind.

So, the question is: How can Yildirim cause Canelo problems and perhaps somehow cause one of the biggest boxing upsets in recent years?

Chris Mannix and former WBC light-middleweight champion Sergio Mora took a closer look at Avni's tactical options on the latest episode of "Jabs" on DAZN, and while they agree it's a slim chance, they believe there could be a way.

Mora said: "Well, let's take a look at who gave Alvarez trouble before. Mayweather used the long jab and kept the distance and beat him. Austin Trout and Erislandy Lara also caused him some trouble. So that's two southpaws and Mayweather.

"All three of them are slick boxers. Yildirim isn't a slick boxer. But he can use the ring and ring generalship to fight in spurts and keep the distance. Gennadiy Golovkin also gave Canelo hell but he used the power jab and smart aggression without smothering his punches.

"There is a way to beat Canelo. It needs a little bit of boxing and a little bit of fighting."

Mannix concurred, saying: "I think it is a little bit of everything. As Diaz said, you can't let Canelo get into a rhythm in there, otherwise you'll be down nine rounds to one in the 10th round with no chance of coming back.

"I don't know if Yildirim has the talent to come up with the gameplan to confound Canelo. In addition to being fast and strong, Alvarez is one of the smartest boxers out there. He dissects opponents before picking them apart.

"Diaz does not believe Yildirim is the same fighter that fought Anthony Dirrell. He said that fighter was more robotic than he will against Canelo and that's promising. If he can apply pressure from different angles and change it up, he can pick up some rounds against Canelo. We've seen plenty of fighters pick up rounds on him.

"What I'm most worried about though, is if this bout becomes a firefight, that Avni will forget everything he's learned with Joel Diaz and attempt to fight power with power against Canelo, and I don't think that's gonna work."

"You don't wanna go fire with fire against Alvarez," added Mora. "Yildirim's moniker is 'Mr. Robot', but he definitely needs to avoid being robotic in this fight. He needs to be fluid, a little bit forward and a little bit backward against a superstar like Canelo, but all behind a long jab."
