Eddie Hearn is eager to secure Dmitry Bivol a second meeting with Canelo Alvarez regardless of the result of his next fight.
On October 12, live on DAZN, Bivol will look to become undisputed light-heavyweight champion when he takes on Artur Beterbiev.
In 2022, Bivol caused a huge upset when he welcomed Canelo Alvarez to the 175lbs division and defeated the Mexican icon on points.
The pair have been linked to a rematch ever since that night, and Hearn has provided some information on whether it could happen.
“If Dmitry Bivol beats Artur Beterbiev, we have the opportunity to do Dmitry Bivol against Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed light heavyweight world championship,” said Hearn when speaking to Boxing News.
“If Dmitry were to lose, he could drop down to 168 to challenge Canelo Alvarez, which he’s capable of doing. So, obviously, we want to see Dmitry win this fight, and if Canelo wants it, I would love to make that happen.”
