Edgar Berlanga says he will not be repeating Jaime Munguia’s errors against Canelo Alvarez.
Munguia and Canelo went at it in May, and he was knocked down once on his way to a unanimous decision loss.
Canelo is making his traditional September appearance on the 14th, live on DAZN, when he faces Berlanga.
Berlanga saw the fight earlier this year, and thinks there are lessons to be learned.
“Munguia is long, big and throws a lot of punches but he fell for a lot of Canelo's traps,” he said, reported BoxingScene.com. “He gave up his height and reach and moved forward a lot. I thought it was going to be a way better fight for Munguia.”
He dismissed Canelo’s argumentative tone in the build up, adding: “He's just talking ****. I don't give a ****. He knows what's up. I looked right through him. Like Tony Montana said in the movie Scarface, 'The eyes don't lie, chico'. And you can see it in my eyes, I don't fear no man.”
