Freddie Roach has not ruled out a knockout finish when undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Jaime Munguia meet on May 4 in Las Vegas.
The contest, which is an all-Mexican affair, has the potential to be an exciting one with Alvarez coming up against an opponent known for his knockout power.
Roach, who trains Munguia, believes that Munguia's style could cause a number of problems which could result in Alvarez being stopped for the first time in his career.
“Yes I do. He’s been hurt before, come on," Roach told FightHype when asked whether Munguia can stop Alvarez.
"I know his style will give him trouble and we look forward to it. We signed the contract one day out, that’s how bad we wanted that fight.”
When asked whether Munguia could knock out Alvarez, Roach did not rule out the possibility.
“No, I’m not expecting a knockout but I think he could knock him out. I’m back to work with him tomorrow."
